“Without libraries what have we? We have no past and no future.”

Ray Bradbury

“A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people – people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.”

E.B. White

“Don’t join the book burners. Don’t think you’re going to conceal faults by concealing evidence that they ever existed. Don’t be afraid to go in your library and read every book…”

Dwight D. Eisenhower

“Whatever the cost of our libraries, the price is cheap compared to that of an ignorant nation.”

Walter Cronkite

If we didn’t already have libraries, they would now have to be invented. They are the keys to American success in fully exploiting the information superhighways of the future.

James Billington – Librarian of Congress

Doctor Who: You want weapons? We’re in a library. Books are the best weapon in the world. This room’s the greatest arsenal we could have. Arm yourself! (from Tooth and Claw in Season 2)

Russell T. Davies

Why this site?

This site was developed as a creative venture and outlet of expression. It is a place to share some of my thoughts and ideas through words and pictures. This site is also a way to share with family and old friends the comings and goings of my life. Finally, the site is a window into my world and a way of meeting new people and making new friends. So please take some time to see what I have to offer here and most of all please let me know what you think. While most of the links at the top of the page are self-explanatory others may seem a bit more obscure. My Blog contains thoughts and insights on the world around me. The Photo Blog captures some of my favorite pictures and provides some commentary on them. Just hoping to make a difference in the world. Continue to support our Troops and pray they come home soon.
